Assist User Manual
Assist is a working cabinet in which a team runs projects and releases, breaks work down into tasks, logs the hours spent, plans people's workload, and receives notifications. The manual describes the whole cabinet: every screen, every button, and every process from the first sign-in to closing a release.
The manual is written for a reader who sees the cabinet for the first time. No knowledge of project management terms is required: all terms are explained at first use and collected in the glossary.
What the manual consists of
| Part | What is in it | When to read |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | How the manual is organized, core concepts, a 15-minute quick start, the interface layout, sign-in and roles | On the first day |
| Processes | Step-by-step instructions “what to do to get a result”: from the first sign-in to closing a release and configuring the cabinet | When you need to do a specific job |
| Cabinet screens | A description of every screen: how to open it, what is on it, which actions are available, which messages are possible | When you need to understand what a specific page or button does |
| Reference | The glossary, menu map, permission tables, stages and transitions, fields, rules and limits, error messages, FAQ | When you need to check a detail |
Where to begin
- Read “How to use this manual”: it explains the conventions and the structure of the screen descriptions.
- Open the “Where to begin” page and choose your role: employee, project manager, or administrator. For each role the reading order is given.
- Go through the quick start: in 15 minutes you will sign in to the cabinet, find your task, move it through stages, and log hours.
The language of the manual and the cabinet
The manual exists in Russian and English. The language switch is in the upper-right corner of the site. The Assist cabinet also has two interface languages: the EN / RU switch is in the cabinet header. The Russian version of the manual describes the Russian cabinet interface, the English version describes the English interface. The screenshots in each version are taken in the corresponding interface language.
Data in the screenshots
All data in the screenshots is fictional: the projects “Retail Group mobile app” and “Nordtrans carrier portal”, and employees with addresses in the example.com domain. Any resemblance to real people and companies is accidental.
If the manual does not answer your question
- Check the FAQ and messages and errors.
- Find the term in the glossary.
- Contact the cabinet administrator. In your message give the page address, the message text, and, if possible, attach a screenshot.
