What Assist is

Assist is a web cabinet for managing a team's project work. It brings together in one place what is usually kept in several programs: the list of projects and releases, tasks, working time tracking, people's workload plan, and event notifications.

Which tasks Assist solves

How work goes through the cabinet

  1. A manager creates a project and adds a team to it.
  2. Releases and tasks are created in the project. Tasks are given assignees, dates, and an estimate.
  3. An assignee finds their task on the “My work” page, moves it through stages, and logs hours (tracks).
  4. Hours get into reports and into the plan-versus-fact comparison.
  5. A manager follows the course of work by boards, calendars, and reports, then moves the release through stages until closing.
  6. At each step Assist sends notifications to the interested people.

A detailed description of the relations between entities: “Core concepts and relations”.

What Assist does not do

  • It does not store passwords. Sign-in is performed through Keycloak.
  • It does not create accounts in Keycloak. In the “Users” section an employee's profile is created in Assist, and the sign-in account is created by the sign-in system administrator.
  • It is not an accounting system. A release can store a closing amount and a link to an act or invoice, but settlements with clients and payroll are kept outside Assist. Data on hours worked can be exported to Excel or CSV.
  • It does not replace a messenger. For discussion, comments in tasks, projects, and releases are used. Notifications can be received in messengers, but no conversation is held in them.
